Named after a renowned capitalist, Quark acknowledges the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition, but being educated, he recognizes that there is an ethical component that certain notorious Ferengi overlooked. Quark acts on the knowledge that free and fair trade positively affects trade volume and promotes trust, thereby significantly adding to the amount of gold-pressed latinum (or today's equivalent) under his mattress. Though profit-driven, Quark has continuously provided both water and oxygen to all major belter-loader hubs, at cost, since inception. He plans to add proteins and citrus, as finances allow.
