Tranquil HAM Caracal - Skillplan: Lurkers T0 HAM Caracal T0 HAM Caracal
Above is a T0 HAM Caracal. If a pilot can equip everything then they meet the requirements to do T0.
Pilot needs to know the MWD is only for covering large distances or catching a distant target. Shut it off otherwise.
Shield rep as needed but similar to MWD you don't perma-run the shield booster.
Ammo swap where appropriate. Match missiles to weather by default. This is easy enough for the pilot to test (and they should as part of learning).
In testing I preferred Firestorms but it will do all of the weathers.
---
Calm HAM Armor Caracal Electrical V4 - Skillplan: T1 HAM Caracal
Same as T0, learn when to pulse your MWD. It's primarily used to get into position then you deactivate. You will take a beating when you are closing the distance versus battleships but with tech 1 HAMs and low skills you need to close the gap to apply damage. With an AB you're taking punishment for longer while you try to get in range.
Against a Marshall you will slowboat into range while your RAH has time to shift resistances for the missile type. Once you feel comfortable on tank then light the MWD to close the distance. Alternatively, overheat one cycle of MWD and overheat your tank while closing the distance.
You can drop the recharger if you are confident in your cap management skills. TP, Missile Comp, or TD are great options instead.
