Ilarya was fresh out of the Science and Traade Institute when she was hired by the CEO of Woodlawn National Bank, Galen Vaille. Eventually she climbed the corporate ladder like any good Caldari does (by murdering her way up) until she became the right hand (erm, "secretary") of the "reformed" Gallente mob boss. She then plotted a coup within the company, ousting Galen as CEO where she then proceeded to poison Galen, paid for the decomissioning of his clone vats, and robbed the bank of all its funds.

She then went missing for several months where it's rumored she had been captured and experimented on by Drifters. When she resurfaced she joined the Caldari militia to engage in Faction War against the Gallente and Minmatar, and then went on a gambling binge that nearly cost her all her wealth. While Ilarya was drunk and high (and on a bed crammed with spent males), Cliora Bedala, who had just left her former alliance, contacted Ilarya to form a new corporation together: YinYang Manufacturing and Exploration.
