Daughter of Daron and Ilanya Gakuunar (of Khanid lineage, Dresi branch). Fled to Minmatar space when both parents died at the outset of the Gakuunar Schism. Blended in with Sebiestor population, then attended and graduated from the Minmatar Republic Military School under a pseudonym. Currently plying Caldari space in order to steer clear from the ongoing bloodbath of the Schism.

The Gakuunar clan is not, compared to some other storied Khanid lineages, an ancient lineage. Claiming descent from a daughter of a Khanid Heir, the majority of the Gakuunar lineage is nevertheless mostly descended from Udorian lines. Until recently the Gakuunar clans practiced single-male descent, ensuring that only a single male would propagate and lead the Gakuunar line via its "trials," which were a series of challenges and contests intended to ensure the survival of only one contestant. Recent Gakuunar generations were less bloodthirsty than those of old, and since the Khanid split from the Amarr Empire, multiple male descendants were permitted to survive into adulthood, though all were still required to complete a less-deadly form of the trials.

The consequence of this change in clan rules was the development of multiple branches of the Gakuunar clan, which ultimately led to a schism roughly a decade ago upon the death of the previous head of the clan, who himself left no surviving male heirs. Several branches whose heads had survived the trials now vie for the Gakuunar clan seat on Balanaz, and this competition, which appears to have no end in sight, has bled (pun intended) into internecine warfare and assassinations. A number of Gakuunar have left Khanid and Amarr space for safer confines elsewhere, but even there they are not entirely out of harm's reach.
