The Austrene children were orphaned following a mining colony attack by Angel Pirates. In her position as first-born, Freija became the Matriarch of the Austrene family at the age of sixteen cycles.

All three surviving Austrene children have sworn blood-oaths to offer no quarter to any persons who sail under the Angel Cartel banner.
