I grew up in Urlen.
If you don't know it, that's because
it's the most boring system in New Eden.
I knew early I had to get out of there.
Sylvia Avery was my best friend growing up.
She had the looks that turned every head and
together we teased every boy in the system.
It was fun while it lasted.
But Sylvia's mother had other ideas -
fearing Sylvia was heading for trouble with the wrong boy,
she arranged for her to get married.
I was heartbroken I was losing my best friend.
We were in the station hanger waiting for her transport,
both of us crying, when we saw the blockade runner...
the door was open... It was such a reckless act...
before I knew it, we were both hiding in the hold.
When we docked in 3-SFWG all hell broke loose.
Maggie Mae was the pilot. And man, she was a bitch.
She took us to her boss Galtar Tivianne and
asked to space us.
To this day, I'm sure she meant it.
Galtar simply said, "I don't believe in happenstance.
If you earn your keep, you can stay."
He was hard and he expected us to learn.
To grow. To be independent.
And we did.
