Bio
"Just my luck"...
Merrick struggled to believe his own words as he stared dead into the abyss that had taken his last starship. Isolated and alone, he drifted through the vacuum of space with only his suit and a dwindling supply of oxygen.
"Inhale.... exhale... inhale... exhale..."
Merrick, realizing he had reached the end of his story, could finally appreciate the beauty of the the serene starscape that displayed itself before him. He closed his eyes and let the sweet twilight carry him to sleep.
At least, it would have, if it didn't stop getting brighter and brighter.
"What the hell?"
Merrick opened one eye to see that what he thought was a twinkling galaxy lightyears away, was actually the headlight of an industrial mining freighter.
"Hey asshole! Get outta the way... what are you doing out here? We almost mistook you for some floating chunk of garbage!"
Merrick, bemused, thought to himself "Garbage... yes - that must be my destiny"
With that, he used the last remaining strength in his muscles to crack through the sheet of ice enveloping his body, and outstretched his thumb.
"Hey buddy... I need a ride!"
