Iolanta was born into a devout and respected family of True Amarrian descent, the Diveevskiye. Her home world is the green planet Penirgman VIII, orbiting around the Penirgman star, in the Parud constellation in the Domain region. Her father Bahram is an enginner working for the Imperial Armaments. Her mother Berenike is a judge in the Theology Council Tribunal.

From an early age she wanted to unravel the mysteries of the Universe. She was fascinated by science, Physics in particular. She showed a very independent spirit, unusual for children of her social environment.

When she grew up, she went to the Royal Amarr Institute, in the Emrayur systmen, in the Arvachah constellation in the Tash-Murkon region. There she studied both applied science and business. There she became a staunch supporter and admirer of Catiz Tash-Murkon. She believes that the technological advancement is the best way for the Amarr Empire to restore its former glory.

After graduating from the Royal Amarr Institute, she joined the ranks of the capsuleers, much to the dismay of her family. After travelling across the space and trying different professions, she settled in Yekti constellation the Domain region. There she started a technological and industrial collaboration with the Carthum Conglomerate. In particular, they adapted the Caldari technology to develop a new generation of missiles for the Amarrian Navy.
