Jopiel Jonoah's tale is similar to many Caldari Children. His parents were respectable miners that only wanted what was best for their child. But for miners, that meant that they were absent most of his life. He was raised in craftsmens boarding schools that were paid for by his family's mining exploits. He was an only child and as so, had a tendency to enjoy seclusion and the tedium of mining. He enjoys spending the long hours in the dark, and returning with a full cargo hold. He signed up to be a capsuleer as soon as he could and took over the family trade so his folks could retire.
