Klaine was decorated in the Stenten Rebellion for bravery, by a little known clan of Hawarye Chieftains. However the Rebellion ultimately failed and he was forced to sell his medallions and documents for food while living as a stowaway aboard the TK8374 Cruiser en route to Calderon Nebula, where he took trade as a mineral synthesiser while completing research for the Science institute.

Little is known of his childhood but he bears the mark of his Shaishi ancestry on his forehead, and has distant relations in known locations. There are links suspended in crystals in hidden locations in the Calderon Region, which hold maps and treasures he had gained while briefly stationed there, and also notes about his past, which did not survive his most recent re-cloning memory transport.

Among the distinguished few who know Klaine well are Tenvord the Giant Peacemaker and Freedman Rielly of Stuffich-by-Winchputshire, a pioneering helmet chipbin repairsman and warp engine cone specialists.
