King Armer drank alone. A near-empty bottle of Kaalakiota Peaks vodka turned slowly in his hands.
The Star Traveler's Lounge is a popular dive bar on orbit above the Intaki V - Moon 5 Astral Mining station. But Armer wasn't in the mood for company.
Aacryx Vultron, his gang leader, had got himself caught.
The fool. It could have been avoided.
Yet for Armer an opportunity. He was now acting leader of the SMYRK narcotics gang.
There was also danger. The overlords at Serpentis Prime were displeased. Vultron's capture had made headlines which was bad for business.
Serpentis operatives might spring Vultron from prison, but for now Armer must continue the Initiative - transform Intaki into a Serpentis narcotics hub - or Armer would be "removed."
Swilling the last of his vodka, King Armer headed abruptly out of the bar. He would push the gang hard, please the overlords, save his skin.
If all went well, he would end up powerful and rich!
