Kastomere Amilupar is the youngest son of his Family and with no wealth or influence to inherit and a keen interest in ancient history Kas decided to attend the prestigous Imperial Academy and join the Imperial Armarda. It was during his studies that Kas came upon some old records from his home world.

These records tell of the Time of Isolation after the Eve Gate fell and a group of noble, stubborn and downright reckless group of individuals called The Riders. In short The Riders were traders, combatants, messengers and couriers who would undertake any mission for thier lord and for the correct price. They were also a family each one known for thier strengths and weaknesses but still greater for the sum of thier parts.

It is now Kastomere's ambition to reform The Riders and stay true to the creed that permeated this ancient band of misfits, "It is ok to stumble, It is ok to Fall, It is ok to feel pain. It is ok to feel weakness. But to Quit is the greatest sin of all."
