Lucky's parents had hope that he would be a Capsuleer from the day he was born and therefore named him after a ship in legend which dates back from before humanity came through the Eve Gate. The ship, which travelled on water before the time of space-flight, undefeated in battle and unsinkable, had "luck" in its very name.

The Lucitania.

From his earliest memories Lucky has been taught that his fate is inextricably linked with that of his namesake and he must accept the fortune of his luck. Before every battle he invokes the spirits which protected the original Lucitania and humbly requests that he be granted the same boon.
