L'iai is the former Life Imitating AI in charge of piloting the Gorm. After finding out what was being done to their prisoner Neuroticdax 'she' plotted to have him releasd before she could do so she was ordered to remove half of the Ven's effective brain leaving him a vegtable capable only of powering the ship, she was forced to comply but in the process installed an implant replacing what was removed and allowing the installation of the AI unit. Siezing the oppertunity L'iai also provided co-ordinates to Kredious (ven's sister) who mounted an attack on the gorm resulting in its destruction at the moment of explosion the core containment was set to critical and ejected ven in a pod witch generated an artifical gate into New Eden through witch Ven fell through later to be frozen in an ice field for 300 years and found by a salvage ship of witch he gaind command and is now simply looking for a home.
