Joan Moldovia had the luxury of growing up after the Gallente-Caldari wars with a fairly pleasant early life her father was a merchantman and her mother an artist of small fame. She grew up on one of the fringe worlds, thereby being at the seat of cultural exchange. Like most Intaki Joan was an introspective individual who spent equal time watching her mother paint and her father work, however as pirate attacks became more of a problem, and her father’s small business began to suffer, Joan realized that the merchant world could not sit still while the Military all but ignored this problem.

On her 16th birthday she entered the Gallente Military academy after lying about her age to pass the entrance tests, she signed up for the Special Forces track, intending to leave as soon as possible to clear out the pirate threat near her home world. Unfortunately she quickly realized she didn’t have the raw talent necessary for such a task when she graduated years later, dead center in h
