Bio
When 'Batch 27' clones rolled out of the production facility, no-one could foresee what a mess the scientists made of the genome, but it is the unfortunate few that were pod killed and ended up in these clones that are now left with the legacy of that production failure. After the scientists realised what they had done; the laborious task of categorising each of the failings in the genome began. It was soon realised that most of the batch was OK except for the alphas, but the damage was done and a few alphas were inhabited by capsuleers killed in their pods. No-one knows how many alphas’ were inhabited, but what we do know is that the failings are not just genetic and can be passed on to subsequent clones of the capsuleer. A propensity for reckless behaviour is a failing of the alpha's and we do know of a case where an high ranking industrialist was pod killed and turned in to raving lunatic. He changed his name to 'Batch 27A'.
