I started in EVE in 2006 as a dedicated fan of S-F but I played only a 2 weeks trial then. I was disapointed very much. The game was complicated, player-unfriendly in all aspects and boring like hell by 2006.
Now, in 2018, I have thought I will give this game a second chance, more so, as now the trial is unlimited in time, in spite of being limited in gameplay possibilities.
But not much has changed in 15 years as far as new player is concerned. CCP doesn't learn how games have to be made and EVE continues its agony.
