Born and raised on the Caldari Steel Factory in orbit of sixth moon of Kubinen VI, Bastion Ryg was exposed to prejudice and hardships at an early age.

Six decades ago the factory was a hotbed of contempt for the Gallente Federation. Workers from the Algogille system were displacing many of the steel workers that had operated the Kubinen VI Steel Factory for generations. Bastion's parents were among them.

During his early life, tensions on the station were critical.  Bastion's mother was among a group of civilians that were ejected into space when a terrorist bomb destroyed a bulkhead. Bastion's father came close to death several times in the riots that followed, but it was his taste for Haatomoan Rye that finished the job in the end.

After a lifetime of brushes with the law and a few incarcerations, Bastion Ryg forfiet his mortality and humianity to become a capsuleer and make a name for himself in New Eden. While he manages to keep his contempt of the Gallente Federation in check, at times it makes itself known in ugly and often violent ways.
