Tips For Safety for a Ratter / Miner in dubious security zones:
Use your D-scan! You can detach the scan results, so you have a list to keep checking with shortcut (default): V
Setup a overview list that is for scanner probes only. If you are running sites, they probably wont get you, unless they use scanner probes to find you. If you see a probe, align and pull drones. Even better - dockup. The best - call your friends!
You can still lock someone who is jamming you. If you are running solo and using jamming to protect yourself... consider another option. (valid as at 2023, irl).
Money tips:
Find a faction that has decent items in their LP store, like faction ammo / ships / implants. Run missions for them and convert normal items into faction variants, selling for a markup! Don't sell for a small market, don't sell for a large markup.
Always check market availability - sell orders AND buy orders. Switch regions / take your good some jumps away if you see someone is supplying the same item.
Never underestimate laziness! If you can have a product 1 system away, you will buy that, even if it is a little more expensive - emphasis on a little. If i pay 20% more for an item, i fly. If i pay 2% more for an item, i buy, as time = money.
