Son of a Gallente native and Minmatar ex-patriot, Tramlaw Trub grew up a station rat on the Astral Mining Mineral Reserve station orbiting Ethernity V, Moon 1. Tram saw very little of life on a celestial while growing up, save for the occasional vacation to visit relatives on Ethernity VII and one memorable month-long trip to the Eram system for his mother's cousin's wedding.

Tram's father worked as a dock supervisor and warehouse manager, so it fell to Tramlaw's uncle to inspire a desire for spaceflight and adventure. Tram's uncle Steward crewed mining vessels as well as a few capsuleer exploration ships. Steward fueled the young Tramlaw's imagination with stories of adventure and mystery, most of which glossed over the constant danger and long stretches of boredom. Though not entirely encouraging, the Trubs supported their oldest and managed to save enough over the years to send Tramlaw to the University of Calle in order to train for a career in space.
