Jesus Christ is the son of God. He died on the cross taking punishment for our sins against God. All are sinners. I am, you are, everyone you know is a sinner, there is no escaping it. We are all human, and imperfect. There was only one man who led a sinless life, Jesus Christ.

God saw that we were all imperfect and growing farther and farther from him. He knew we had no chance of escaping his judgement against us. Because of this, he sent his son, born of a virgin down to us to take punishment for our sins.
