A recent graduate from the Centre for Advanced Studies, Ben had planned to go out into the universe, to see new sights, to experience the wonder and majesty of the stars, and to make some Isk along the way by peaceful efforts.
This plan was diverted only slightly by the recommendations of his mentor to run a quick errand for a colleague who needed some items retrieved, so he fitted out his brand new Velator and undocked to start setting things to rights.
After, he returned to his peaceful days, mining out rocks from local belts and learning new skills until one day he was attacked and killed by a pirate who cursed him for being so poor a target that he could not land a shot. As his clone awoke, he decided that he should follow the ancient dictum, If ye would have peace, prepare ye for war. He entered the services of the Federation Navy the following day, starting a career of hunting down drug dealers and slavers, terrorists and blood raiders.</fon
