Raiseed in an average home, Tam didn't see much more than his parents homestead.

When he was old enough he went to work on the planets station. One day while helping unload a mining barge, he tripped into a laser that was being tested and it went off destroying a crate of rare minerals.

It took 5 years to work off the debt for the minerals. After that Tam decieded to try his own luck with a ship and mining and exploring. After some initial "Difficulties" Tam was able to get into the program and started his treck into the great unknown
