I never felt right with my feet on the ground; always feeling like I belonged somewhere else - somewhere up there. Every night I'd escape to my backyard and spend hours just laying there looking up to the sky. The light of the moons shimmered upon the dew-laden grass. The endless sea of stars painted its way across the night sky. Even on cloudy nights when the stars refused to shine, I'd wait; hopefull, yet often abandoned and alone. I was so alone.
But then I met her. Even the stars seemed less spectacular when she smiled. We fell in love. Finally. Finally I knew what it was like to feel again. Finally I knew what it was like to be happy; to belong. I wept for days when she died in the crash. This wretched planet left me cold and alone once again. There's nothing left for me here. Nothing but the dead weight of gravity upon my body. There's nowhere to go, but away from this hellhole. So with nothing holding me back, and nothing left to lose, I look up... and make my way to the stars.
