Bio
Ever see those guys who have it all together; tight shirt, pressed pants, shined boots, beautiful ship purring his name? He might have looked different for you. Doubtful you and me see things one-to-one. Still, I was one of those guys. Had it all locked down. Tight. Damndest thing about control. It's a myth. Religion. Vapor. So I end up with zip. But at least I had zip in Hek. If you can screw it, shoot it, or rob it; it's in Hek. It's not what I'd call dirty... but it has the stink of fear and greed. You don't notice when you first disembark. No matter if you're a pod jockey or a regular Jaut, you excuse it as fuel or the three dozen cooks hawking grub at you and you forget about it until you realize you aren't in the hangars anymore. You realize it's been three days since you saw so much as a grease monkey and you sniff and there it is. I happen to recognize it. Same stink as the 'lente sprite digging at my hip. She's checked that pocket for my credits at least twice so she was either bad at her game or wanted more than a handful of ISK. Damn I miss her. I should've named her I suppose but if her folks didn't see the need it ain't my place. Another body would be welcome right now. But she'd have to sit on my lap or bring her own cockpit. I found a agent with a recently blemished reputation and only a Burst for payment. The job was easy. Deliver a message. I made a call to a friend of a friend who owed me nothing from a thing that never happened and the message went off by confirmed courier of a much more connected group of individuals than the sweating agent turned ship-less messenger. Bing bang boom, I have a ride and a line on Sister's work down the lanes. I always liked the sisters. Their chores are simple, the pay is fair -for me- and my credit is good in their entertainment hub. Not so much the case in Hek since that little wager and the state of the room I left Sprite in. Now I'm soaking in a pod 16 hours a pop and my numbered account has a higher score than my debt marker. Something still smells like fear and greed. Starting to think it was me all along. -Bas
