Personal Log, 'Doctor' Phan Guin, 2019.11.25
I have been away these five years. It is strange that, on returning, this capsule still feels so familiar to me.
When I retired for my second time, I did not think I would ever return. Seeing good friends, new pilots, be so quickly consumed by the violence of the South was cause enough to make such a decision. I told myself, as a wealthy and independent immortal, that I had no need to concern myself with the petty affairs of capsuleer warfare any longer.
How incredibly wrong that belief was.
I must re-learn what I once knew. The rust is immense, and much of my assets are scattered across the South, inaccessible to me as of yet. I shall need to begin anew. Sinq Laison seems is an appropriate location for this, I feel, due to its proximity to both the South and to the hub at Jita.
Null itself still seems to eternally burn. I read once of an ancient saying, which said thast that regardless of all the changes we as humans have forced upon ourselves, our internal nature - that of constant, terrible war - never changes. Perhaps that is true. How funny it is to me that our world of science and mathematics can perform such wonders as spaceflight and immortality, but not conquer the base chaos that lies within our souls.
We are, indeed, imperfect recreations of His image.
