His parents were brought into the slave trade at a young age, but they remembered stories of the elders and history of their tribe. They tought these to their son and when just old enough they some how managed to get him out of the camp and the forest became home. The stories and a relic of a knife were more than enough for survival in the plentiful, but arduous woods.
