Family killed by riots on Kisogo during the BoF upheaval. Blamed the terrorists, until it came to light that State Security Forces were the ones responsible for her parents death. Additionally with the knowledge that The State did nothing to assist the civilian communities affected by the riots, other than to enforce martial law against terrorist and loyalist alike.
She harbors a deep resentment towards the current power base w/i The State. Athena is loyal to the State, but no longer feels any kinship with the greedy and pompus MegaCorps. Her time in Lai Dai, instilled her with a firm belief in quality over quantity. She translates this over in a different context, to include the working masses and civilians making up the population of the Caldari State. If those sentients are given a higher quality of life, product quality and loyalty would rise.
